October 14 Parent Weekly

October 14, 2022

Dear ESMS Families,

What an incredible week we had with the kick off of our after school clubs and activities. It is always nice to hear the sounds of kids laughing, smiling, and having fun. Yesterday staff and students were adorned in all pink as we showed our support for Pledge Pink Day (breast cancer awareness) and raised over $500.00. Thank you to our generous ESMS community. Check out pictures on our ESMS Twitter, Insta, and Facebook.

CONFERENCES: Reminder, Conferences are Wednesday, October 19th  5:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 20th  1:05-3:05 p.m. Please note that we will have a modified early dismissal time on the conference days to accommodate the conference schedule. Therefore, students will be dismissed on October 19th and  October 20th  at 12:35 pm.

PTA: Click here to access our dine out night, in support of the ESMS PTA. One of the PTA goals this year is to fund as much of the field trip costs as possible. You can help us reach our goal by signing up for our new givebacks program, where 25,000 local and national businesses will donate to our PTA when you shop with them. Please click here for additional information. If you would like to join the ESMS PTA please click here to access the membership form or click here to join or donate online.

DOLPHIN DOLLARS: At ESMS we are proud of our students for following our value system by being accountable, staying respectful and being safe.  To reward our students for this exemplary behavior we have implemented our Dolphin Dollar system which students can use to purchase items at our ESMS school store.  In an effort to fully stock our school store, in conjunction with our AMAZING PTA, we are asking families to consider making a contribution.  Click here for more information and a list of items you can donate.  Thank you as always for your continued generosity and support!

SEADOG FUNDRAISER: ESMS will be hosting an online only fundraiser beginning October 14, 2022.  This fundraiser will run through October 24, 2022 and will feature items such as Kringle Candles and Gertrude Hawk Premium Chocolates.  All money raised from this fundraiser goes directly towards purchases for the ESMS Dolphin Dollar Store! This information came home in your child’s backpack Monday, October 3! Click here for a digital version.

VETERANS DAY: East Shore Middle School proudly presents Take a Veteran to School Day.  In honor of Veterans Day, ESMS students and staff would like to invite our family and friends who are veterans to visit with the ESMS learning community on Friday, November 11 from 8:30-10:15 am.  Our veteran guests will attend a ceremony and then share their experiences of patriotic and military service with a small group of students. If you have a veteran family member who would like to attend please click here to access our Veterans Day flyer which can be completed and submitted to your student’s Social Studies teacher by Tuesday, November 1.

GRADE 8 FAMILIES: Anyone interested in joining the grade 8 PTA committee? Please reach out to Mrs. Mirmina at janemirmina@gmail.com
