Dear ESMS Families,
What an awesome week at ESMS. If you are not following us on Twitter, you should! This is such an incredible way to see all of the great happenings at ESMS on a daily basis. Please join us for our PTA meeting this Monday at 6:30. We meet in person, in the Media Center and it is a wonderful way to hear about the exciting things happening at ESMS and the best way to get involved! There is no school on Wednesday October 5, as we observe Yom Kippur.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS: This was sent home and shared on Friday September 23. Today is the last day to sign up for clubs. Most of the clubs are filled but if your child is interested they can try to still get in by signing up here. Please note that we have added an additional club, French Club. Just a reminder we do our very best to make sure all kids who request a club get at least one. Each club has a maximum capacity.
ESMS MERCH: So many families have reached out hoping to order your kiddos ESMS SWAG…..it is here. Click here to see the ESMS merchandise that is available. These orders are due in by October 1 - perfect gifts for the holiday too! Checks made payable to ESMS or cash along with your order form can be handed in to homeroom teachers to be delivered to the ESMS Main Office - Attention Mrs. Conroy. Please keep in mind that merchandise is being offered in adult sizes only.
GRADE 8 FAMILIES: Anyone interested in joining the grade 8 PTA committee? We are meeting on Monday, October 3 (following PTA) at 7:15 pm. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Mirmina at janemirmina@gmail.com
PLEDGE PINK DAY: ESMS is going to be participating in Pledge Pink Day on October 13! Staff and students can donate a $1 on this day and wear your most amazing pink outfits and accessories in support of breast cancer awareness. Families can also donate by visiting our giving page which can be accessed here. Click here to view the Pledge Pink Day flyer.
CONFERENCES: We are pleased to announce our Fall 2022 Middle School Conference Schedule:
Wednesday, October 19th 5:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 20th 1:05-3:05 p.m.
Please note that we will have a modified early dismissal time on the conference days to accommodate the conference schedule. Therefore, students will be dismissed on October 19th and October 20th at 12:35pm. Parents/guardians will once again have the opportunity to select a conference time through My Conference Time. All conferences will be in person unless a parent/guardian requests a Google Meet link directly from the teacher. Fall conference sign up information will be live on our school website from Friday, October 7th, at 9:00 a.m. through Monday, October 17th, at 12:00 p.m. If you prefer a virtual session, please contact the teacher to request a Google Meet link to conduct your conference virtually after you have confirmed your conference time through My Conference Time Online Scheduler. We are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s learning! Quick tip: Look for emails from “noreply@myconferencetime.com” when searching email for conference confirmation communications.
PTA: One of the PTA goals this year is to fund as much of the field trip costs as possible. You can help us reach our goal by signing up for our new givebacks program, where 25,000 local and national businesses will donate to our PTA when you shop with them. Please click here for additional information. If you would like to join the ESMS PTA please click here to access the membership form or click here to join or donate online.
DOLPHIN DOLLARS: At ESMS we are proud of our students for following our value system by being accountable, staying respectful and being safe. To reward our students for this exemplary behavior we have implemented our Dolphin Dollar system which students can use to purchase items at our ESMS school store. In an effort to fully stock our school store, in conjunction with our AMAZING PTA, we are asking families to consider making a contribution. Click here for more information and a list of items you can donate. Thank you as always for your continued generosity and support!
SEADOG FUNDRAISER: ESMS will be hosting an online only fundraiser beginning October 14, 2022. This fundraiser will run through October 24, 2022 and will feature items such as Kringle Candles and Gertrude Hawk Premium Chocolates. This information will come home in your child’s backpack Monday, October 3! Click here for a digital version.
VETERANS DAY: East Shore Middle School proudly presents Take a Veteran to School Day. In honor of Veterans Day, ESMS students and staff would like to invite our family and friends who are veterans to visit with the ESMS learning community on Friday, November 11 from 8:30-10:15 am. Our veteran guests will attend a ceremony and then share their experiences of patriotic and military service with a small group of students. If you have a veteran family member who would like to attend please click here to access our Veterans Day flyer which can be completed and submitted to your student’s Social Studies teacher by Tuesday, November 1.
One of the best ways to stay connected and see what is happening in the classroom is through Twitter, Insta or FB. We try our best to capture as much of our kiddos as we can throughout the day.
