Dear ESMS Families,

We had an exciting week, welcoming our incoming grade six students yesterday. We rolled out the red carpet for our newest ESMS dolphins as they mingled and had the opportunity to meet new friends from the other feeder elementary schools. Mr. Piselli and I welcomed all students through a whole class gathering where we had the opportunity to speak about our ESMS Value System and the East Shore Way. Students were then led by upperclassmen through a variety of stations, some of which included a building tour, makerspace, FAQ facilitated by upperclassmen, and a wingman activity in the cafeteria. Our newest members left our building excited for their new home in the fall.

Visit From Meteorologist Joe Furey: We are excited to announce that Joe Furey will visit our school on June 2nd. Joe Furey is a meteorologist at Channel 8 WTNH. Joseph Thomas Furey Jr. aka Joe, or @StormFurey on Twitter, joined News 8 WTNH in October 2017. Furey grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut where he attended Central Catholic High School and is also a graduate of Villanova University and Western Connecticut State University. Joe will present to students about weather and broadcasting.

Revised 21-22 MPS District Calendar: If you have not had a chance to see the district’s revised calendar, please click Revised Calendar to view it. Our tentative last day of school is now June 20.

Grade 6 World Language Selection: Just a reminder for our grade 6 families, World Language selections for the 2022-2023 academic year should be entered in PowerSchool as soon as possible.
