Dear ESMS Families,
Happy Friday! Thank you to our families for your generosity in making our teachers feel even more special during teacher appreciation week. Our PTA spoiled our entire learning community and we appreciate the kindness, love, and continued support. Happy Mother's Day to all those celebrating this on Sunday!
We were lucky enough to have three mini performances this afternoon from the Yale Spizzwinks - what a treat!!! This group is America's oldest collegiate a cappella group and the kids LOVED it! Thank you to our ESMS PTA for funding this special afternoon. WONDERFUL to be back and for our kids to see live music again.

We are looking forward to our choral and band performance next week, May 12 at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Information went out from Mrs. Friedman and Mr. DiMauro. if you have any questions please contact your child’s music teacher.
As mentioned in our communication last week, our Support Team: Mr. D’Angelo, School Psychologist, Ms. Samuelson and Mrs. Rubino, School Counselors, and Ms. Yannelli, Social Worker have developed a series of workshops for our grade six students focused on cultivating a community of kindness and inclusivity. This week students focused on identifying and recognizing differences among themselves and others to help develop respect and empathy. Students created their own collage and were then partnered up to share and discuss their unique identities with peers. Feedback from students was positive and their understanding of inclusivity has improved. We are excited to continue these workshops over the next few weeks to continue to help our students strengthen their social-emotional learning skills and understanding of empathy and inclusivity.
