Dear ESMS Families,
Happy Friday. Congratulations to our choral students who performed last night at Foran High School - what an incredible performance. This morning our entire learning community was lucky enough to hear from all of our music students, from all three grades, in an all-school concert. What a special morning together.
As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the power of community and kindness. This year, we are organizing a gift drive to support several ESMS families in need, and we would be so grateful for your participation. Please click here to view and complete the form if you would like to contribute. Once you've purchased a gift, please wrap it, label it with the family number from the form, and drop it off with Mrs. Kee or at the main office by Monday, December 16, 2024. Your generosity helps ensure a brighter holiday season for all members of our community, and we are truly thankful for your continued support.
Have a meal (or take out) at Silver Sands Pizza on Wednesday, December 11th and a portion of all sales will be donated to the East Shore PTA! Thank you for your support!
SAY SOMETHING PROGRAM: Students from Foran and Law have gone to our middle schools to teach students about the importance of saying something when they hear or see something concerning. Sandy Hook Promise created the “Say Something” program which includes interactive activities and lessons for students to come together and learn about how to think before they speak and the importance of being an “upstander.” We are grateful for the high schoolers – their dedication to promoting safety and kindness is making a positive impact, by encouraging our students to be compassionate and proactive in supporting one another. Together, we can continue to provide a safe and more inclusive environment for everyone. Click here to learn more about the “Say Something” program.
FIRE DRILL: Conducting emergency drills (fire, crisis, lockdown, etc.) is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school. ESMS plans to conduct a fire drill next week. This will only be a drill and will be conducted in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district and in collaboration with our local first responders. Please discuss the importance of our emergency drills with your children. If you have any feedback please reach out to scarlson@milforded.org or jgenova@milforded.org. We thank you for your cooperation and partnership in making our schools a safer place for learning.
