Dear ESMS Families,
Thank you to all of the families who came out to support ESMS at the staff. student, family basketball game. We had such an awesome night together. A special thank you to our PTA for helping us make this happen!
Today we had an awesome interactive musical performance by Boogie Chillin for our entire school population. These talented musicians took us on a musical journey through the rich music history of the United States. Thank you again to the PTA for paying a portion of the cost to help us make this happen for our kiddos. The performance was SUPER FUN and the kids loved it!
Next week is TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK. This is the perfect time to remind our kiddos to give a shout-out and a big thank you to our awesome ESMS teachers. We have a great week planned for our incredible staff - thanks to the support of our PTA in helping us make this happen.
IMPORTANT - SMARTER BALANCED ASSESSMENT (SBA) INFORMATION: Students took the ELA Smarter Balanced Assessment on May 2 and 3 (ELA) and now prepare for the Math SBA on May 9-11. These tests are all digital, so please be sure Chromebooks have been completely powered down and restarted to receive the update to the secure browser. Also, please be sure Chromebooks are charged each evening. If students have headphones, they can bring their own to use during the test as well. Finally, students should be sure to have a book with them in the event that they finish the test before the test session ends.
Social Media Awareness
Officer Loschiavo met with each grade level to review safe and responsible use of social media. After the presentation, students completed a reflection on their learning and committed to one way they can improve their use of social media. You can support this at home by being aware of the social media platforms students are on, monitoring time spent on social media, setting accounts to private, and encouraging students to be mindful of what they share about themselves.
