Dear ESMS Families,
Thank you to all of our ESMS families for your continued support, patience, deliveries, kind words, emails, and so much more. The outpouring of support from our entire MPS community has been much appreciated. It was wonderful to see so many of you in person as well at conferences Wednesday and last night. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child gets the best possible experience at ESMS.
One of the goals in Comprehensive School Counseling is for every student to have a connection with a member of our student support team. Please remind your child that he or she is never alone; students may ask to talk to ESMS school counselors, Ms. Samuelson or Mrs. Rubino, at any time. We also have a school social worker, Mrs. Dougher, and school psychologist, Ms. Chapman, as additional supports. As students work through loss, it’s especially important that they understand where they can turn for help. Parents, please reach out to asamuelson@milforded.org or krubino@milforded.org if you would like to discuss your child or would like information on counseling providers. If your child is experiencing an emergency, please contact 211 or 911.
PTA UPDATE: There will be a PTA meeting this Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30 pm. See you then!
CLUB NEWS: Music Jam Afterschool Club will meet on Monday, April 3. Regular Thursday meets will resume after April break. There will be no after school clubs on Thursday April 6. Therefore there will be no late buses OR after school activities this day.

ESMS 3rd ANNUAL CAREER DAY: We have some very exciting news…..ESMS is hosting our 3rd Annual Career Day for all students and we need your help! We are looking for Career Day presenters and are hopeful you can help us out. If you are willing to share your career or know someone who might be interested in being a part of this awesome day for our kids, please click here for more information. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE - East Shore students and staff have been invited to march with the American Legion post 196 during this year's Memorial Day parade! Students who participate will receive a paper hat to wear during the parade and are invited back to the American Legion post for ice cream after the parade is over. SMARTER BALANCED ASSESSMENT (SBA) INFORMATION: Our tentative SBA dates are detailed below. There are essentially 5 testing days.
ELA: 5/2 and 5/3 English Language Arts (ELA Make Up: 5/4, 5/5, and ⅝)
Math: 5/9 and 5/10 and 5/11 Performance Task (Math Make Up: 5/12, 5/15 and 5/16)

Ebooks offer a variety of benefits such as accessibility, audio options, and other unique features. With instant access to a wide selection of books, ebooks are an excellent way for students to explore their interests and expand their personal growth and learning opportunities. DOLPHIN DOLLARS: At ESMS we are proud of our students for following our value system by being accountable, staying respectful and being safe. To reward our students for this exemplary behavior we have implemented our Dolphin Dollar system which students can use to purchase items at our ESMS school store. In an effort to fully stock our school store, in conjunction with our AMAZING PTA, we are asking families to consider making a contribution.
