Dear ESMS Families, 

This was a long difficult week for our ESMS community and we continue to be grateful for your patience, love and outpouring of support. Thank you to our students and families who sent us goodies, provided our staff breakfast, supportive emails, flowers, and provided our staff with lunch. We can not thank you enough - once again I am honored to serve this incredible community. 

Just a reminder, spring conferences are next week which means early release days for students (12:35 pm) on Wednesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 30. Please click here for more information. We look forward to seeing our ESMS families in the school. 

CLUB NEWS:

  • There will be no afterschool clubs on Tuesday, March 28 or Thursday April 6. Therefore there will be no late buses OR afterschool activities on these days. 

  • Music Jam Afterschool Club will meet on Monday, March 27 and Monday, April 3. Regular Thursday meets will resume after April break.

ESMS 3rd ANNUAL CAREER DAY: We have some very exciting news…..ESMS is hosting our 3rd Annual Career Day for all students and we need your help! We are looking for Career Day presenters and are hopeful you can help us out. If you are willing to share your career or know someone who might be interested in being a part of this awesome day for our kids, please click here for more information. ESMS Career Day is Friday, May 19 at 12:30 pm.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE - East Shore students and staff have been invited to march with the American Legion post 196 during this year's Memorial Day parade! Students who participate will receive a paper hat to wear during the parade and are invited back to the American Legion post for ice cream after the parade is over. Come out and show your support for this wonderful event! If your child is interested and/or you have any questions, please contact Mr. Storey at cstorey@milforded.org

MPS ARTS EVENTS: 

ESMS ANNUAL STUDENTS VS. PARENTS/STAFF BASKETBALL GAME: Give it a shot! May 3rd is the ESMS Annual Students vs. Parents/Staff Basketball Game. Click here to learn more about this fun event.  *RAIN DATE is May 2 (we will watch the weather and make the call on the Sunday before). 

YEARBOOK: It's Yearbook time! Please use this link to order your copy of the 2022-2023 East Shore Yearbook. You can search by town or use ID code 6667423. Thank you to all of the Grade 8 families that have submitted baby pictures - they're so cute! If you haven't done so already, please send a baby picture to Mrs. Kim at mkim@milforded.org by Friday, April 7th.

ATTENTION GRADE 8 FAMILIES: Please click here for information regarding course selection for the 2023-2024 school year. SMARTER BALANCED ASSESSMENT (SBA) INFORMATION: Our tentative SBA dates are detailed below. There are essentially 5 testing days. 

ELA: 5/2 and 5/3 English Language Arts (ELA Make Up: 5/4, 5/5, and ⅝) 

Math: 5/9 and 5/10 and 5/11 Performance Task (Math Make Up: 5/12, 5/15 and 5/16)

TOASTY TOES SOCK DRIVE: For the entire month of March, the People Empowering People program will be conducting a sock drive to benefit the Beth-El Center. There will be a collection box at ESMS for those wishing to donate. Learn more about this amazing drive here

MEDIA CENTER NEWS: We are excited to announce that all Milford Public School Libraries now offer students the convenience of 24/7 access to age appropriate ebooks and audiobooks through Destiny Discover. Ebooks offer a variety of benefits such as accessibility, audio options, and other unique features. With instant access to a wide selection of books, ebooks are an excellent way for students to explore their interests and expand their personal growth and learning opportunities. DOLPHIN DOLLARS: At ESMS we are proud of our students for following our value system by being accountable, staying respectful and being safe.  To reward our students for this exemplary behavior we have implemented our Dolphin Dollar system which students can use to purchase items at our ESMS school store.  In an effort to fully stock our school store, in conjunction with our AMAZING PTA, we are asking families to consider making a contribution.  Click here for more information and a list of items you can donate.  Thank you as always for your continued generosity and support!
