Student Lanyards and Swipe Cards:

• Please note that students need their swipe cards when taking a book out of our media center, getting on and off the bus and when in the lunch line.  

• If your child's lanyard is too long, see directions to help shorten the lanyard to an appropriate length.  "How to Shorten Your Lanyard"

Lost & Found:  There are many items on the table in our front lobby that have not found their way to their owner.  Any items not claimed by Friday, February 10 will be donated.

Cell Phone and Smartwatches: Please be aware that our district policy reads:   “At the elementary level - No use of a cell phone/smartwatch or other personal communication device will be permitted during school hours. These devices must be turned off or on silent and left in backpacks, stored in a student’s locker/cubbie or other place designated by building administration.”  Please help us ensure that all student cell phones and  smartwatches are turned off or on silent and left in backpacks as the sending and receiving of texts and calls is a definite disruption to our learning environment.  Students engaging in texting and calling will be asked to put their devices away or to turn them over to staff for safe keeping.  As always if you need to get a message to your child, please call the office - we are more than happy to pass the message along.  

  Valentine's Day  -- We are so excited that Valentine's Day is coming soon.  Please remember that while students may pass out valentine's day cards -- look for more information from your child's classroom teacher regarding their specific classroom plans -- students may not pass out or share any food or candy due to allergy concerns.

Black History Month:  Throughout the year, there are many celebrations focused on acknowledging the history and contributions of different groups.  Black History Month begins on February 1. Milford Public Schools continues our commitment to celebrating diversity and the unique gifts and experiences of our Milford Public Schools students, families and staff that make our community so special. Community Connection Center: This week's Community Connection Center's Newsletter (CCC News)  has links for 211 Tax assistance, Learning about Budgeting for young & old &  CT FoodShare on February 14th.  Each week information about Milford's providers & their programs are listed . You will also find ideas for family friendly activities & places to visit.  And don't forget that the CCC website is also updated with links to community resources. Have a great week!

CPM PTA News:  

URGENT HELP NEEDED! The PTA would like to thank Hacienda Storage for their very generous gift of 15 years of free storage. Unfortunately, they are no longer able to give us our units for free, but have offered them to us at half price. We will discuss keeping one and voting on it at our next PTA meeting but in the meantime, we need to clear out one of the units. If any of our members has a truck or other large vehicle and is able to run a load of obsolete PTA artifacts to the dumpster before the end of February, please reach out to Traci at ptatraci@gmail.com. THANKS!
