Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this communication finds you well as we enter this holiday season!

As we close in on two years of coping with the pandemic, an increasing number of children are experiencing challenges with their emotional and mental health, and we want to provide you with information to assist you in supporting your children.

We have created a Parent University Video that will help you: 1) Recognize stress in your child; 2) Teach your child how to cope with stress; and 3) Access community resources if that level of support is necessary.

Please click here to view this 15-minute video created by two of our talented school counselors from West Shore Middle School.  The information and guidance in this video is appropriate and valuable for parents and guardians of students in all of our grade levels.

Some stress is a normal part of life, but if stress is negatively impacting the lives of our children, they need our support.  The pandemic has produced an unhealthy level of stress for many, and although the holidays are meant to be a time of joy, they can also exacerbate stress for some, so it is an important time to address the impact stress may be having on our children.

We hope you find this resource helpful, and that you have a wonderful holiday break!  Take care.
