to everyone who came to our fall conferences!  We loved meeting with you and appreciate your support!

We will be celebrating  Veterans Day on Monday, November 11th

We will take the time to honor our Veterans through song and written pieces. Students should remember to wear their Boy/Girl Scout uniforms or Patriotic Colors. Families may fill out a Veteran’s Biography for our “Wall of Honor”. Please also note the “Veterans Day Invite” if you know a veteran who would like to participate in our celebration. Please RSVP and/or share the “Wall of Honor” form with Alesha Hubball by November 5, 2024.

Bus Evacuation:  Conducting emergency drills (fire, crisis, lockdown, etc.) is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school. Earlier this week, Calf Pen Meadow School conducted a School Bus Evacuation drill. This was only a drill and was in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district, in partnership with our student transportation provider.  I am pleased to report that the drill was a success. It was efficient and timely.  If you have any feedback please reach out to jwhitaker@milforded.org. I want to thank our students and staff for their interest and participation in making our schools a safer place for learning.

Calf Pen Media Center News:  October 14th-18th is Digital Citizenship Week!  All students read and discussed the book Nerdy Birdy Tweets in media classes.  K/1 students are learning to pause and think about how technology makes them feel, and to ask a grownup for help when they need it.

Coming soon!  Donation drives for Homes for the Brave and Treats for Troops, November 1-15.  Stay tuned for student-created commercials!
