Kindergarteners are catching yetis in the library! We read How to Catch a Yeti, planned our traps, and then built the traps with maker materials
Celebrations: We love celebrating your child’s birthday and making holidays throughout the year special; however, to ensure the safety of all of our students, we do not allow goodie bags of any kind to come into school. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you wish to come in and be a guest reader for the class or hand out a pencil, crayons or bookmark instead. To ensure all items are safe for all children we just ask that a goodie bag of any kind not come in for birthdays or holidays.
Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE. As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note. If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email as early in the day as possible to your child’s teacher and our secretary Mrs. Smyth (jjsmyth@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Grace Sciancalepore (gsciancalepore@milforded.org). It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day
DISMISSAL: A friendly reminder to only turn RIGHT during AM and PM drop off. This is a safety concern and will help the flow of traffic. Thank you!
Kindergarten Registration: Click here for more information. A note regarding the Kindergarten waiver for those with birthdays between September and December - the December assessment appointment window is closed for those families that have requested a waiver for their child to enter into Kindergarten for the 2024 - 2025 school year. If you requested a waiver, but did not have the opportunity to schedule a December appointment, you will receive a communication in the near future to make an appointment for the next Kindergarten waiver assessment. The online Kindergarten registration will remain open, if you have not had the opportunity to register, please do so.
Community Connections Center: This week's CCC News contains information and links for a mix of resources & fun seasonal activities. Among the community services you will find links for the CT FoodShare's Mobile Pantry, TEAM's heating assistance and Milford's Park & Recreations Family Movie Night.
For Family fun you'll find several links to activities all around Connecticut!
In the CCC News Feed you will see the SPARKLER "Ring in the New Year" Family Night for families with preschool or kindergarten students! This will take place at PDS on Tuesday, Jan. 9th from 5:00pm-7:30pm Contact the MFRC today for registration information by calling Kathy or Judy at 203-783-3626.
