Halloween Costume Party

October 12th from 12pm -2pm

Rotary Pavilion at  Fowler Field

Join MPC's wonderful youth committee in a fun and not so scary youth Halloween costume contest (Just $5), food trucks, and vendors all to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital where no child or family pays for treatment or lodging.  This event was created and is being run entirely by our youth committee which includes students from Law, Foran, Lauralton Hall, East Shore Middle School, St. Mary's, and Harborside Middle School.  Hope to see you there!

Sleeping Giant State Park Centennial Celebration

This celebration is not just a reflection on the past 100 years but also a look forward to the future of Sleeping Giant State Park. It’s a day to connect with nature, enjoy time with family and friends, and be a part of the legacy of conservation that The Sleeping Giant Park Association has championed for the past century.

The Centennial  Celebration will include: Hikes, Food Trucks, Music, Hamden Fire Demonstration, Park History and more!

7th Annual New Haven Chalk Art Festival

Saturday, October 12, 2024 12-4pm (rain date Oct. 13)

Enjoy a day of music, art and family entertainment in celebration of the local community in the heart of downtown New Haven and Yale University. The Shops at Yale invites all professional and amateur artists, students, and artist groups to participate in the 7th Annual New Haven Chalk Art Festival.

Special Activities:

  • Family Fun Zone with free chalk for the first 200 children, music

  • Free drawing lessons from The Giggling Pig

  • Live Music from local musicians from 12:00 – 4:00 pm at both artist locations: Broadway Island (56 Broadway) and outside the Yale University Art Gallery (1111 Chapel Street)
