Want to start a Food Business?
The Food Business Accelerator (FBA) by CitySeed and Collab is a statewide accelerator for Connecticut early stage food entrepreneurs.
The aim of the Food Business Accelerator is to remove barriers to food entrepreneurship across the state of Connecticut through training, network-building, and access to resources. We work to create economic opportunity for all, increase leadership by people of color and immigrant food entrepreneurs, and strengthen our local food system by linking rising food entrepreneurs and farmers. We are seeking food entrepreneurs who have recently launched or are working toward launching a food business (such as a food truck, catering company, or food product line).
Questions? Email us at vetiveah@cityseed.org, or meet with us (through Collab office hours) 1-on-1 here!

Connecticut Fresh Match Program allows SNAP recipients to double the fruits and vegetables they purchase at participating farmers’ markets across the State. When SNAP recipients shop at participating farmers’ markets, Connecticut Fresh Match doubles SNAP, allowing households to stretch their benefits, incorporate more fresh produce into their diets, and support local farmers. Markets match SNAP with tokens or coupons to be spent on fruits and vegetables. Matched benefits can be spent that day or can be saved for a future market purchase at many participating locations. Family Fun
A Day Well Spent on the Connecticut Barns Trail
Our CT Ambassador, Deb Cohen of The Front Door Project, recently took a ride on the Connecticut Barns Trail, established by the Preservation Connecticut. She visited key sights around Connecticut’s northeast region on her way to check out some of the most scenic and historic barns in the state.
Depending on where you live or visit in our great small state of Connecticut you would never guess that our early history was heavily based on agriculture. Farms dotted the landscape all over the state and were a primary source of income for many residents until the middle of the 19th century when other forms of industry in Connecticut began to overtake agriculture resulting in the continuous decrease of the number of farms across the state.
