Listed below are the public and private preschool options available for families.

Milford Public Schools

Please note that your child must turn three or four by Sept. 1st for the school year that you are applying for.

Integrated preschools

 Our integrated preschools  operate five days per week and children must attend all five days.  There are two options for integrated preschools,  an a.m. session ( morning ) from 8:30-11:30 and a p.m  session (afternoon) from 12:30-3:30.    There is an annual fee associated with attendance.  Our integrated preschools are inclusive environments that include typical peers and peers with special needs.

The annual fee is based on the state office of early childhood education sliding scale fee schedule which utilizes the annual income and household size ( adults and child) listed on the 1040 tax form that is requested when enrolling.

Integrated preschool classes are offered at four elementary schools. JFK, Pumpkin Delight, and  Orchard Hills have integrated preschool classes consisting of 3 and 4 year olds.  Live Oaks has both an integrated and self contained preschool classroom for our 3 and 4  year old students.  

A special education teacher and para support each classroom. Related service staff such as speech therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist support students per their Individualized Educational Plan.

Foran Child Center Learning Lab

Foran Child Center Learning Lab which operates five days per week.   The hours are  8:00-12:30 each day.  There are approximately ten students, one certified teacher, and one paraprofessional  Rachel Pangu ( rpangu@milforded.org)  is the director and is also present in the classroom each day.    Ms. Pangu oversees the high school students currently taking early childhood education courses within the high school setting.  The high school students work under the direct supervision of Ms. Pangu and the certified teacher. 

The tuition  fee is $30.00/day payable as a monthly tuition.

Jonathan Law

At Jonathan Law High School there is a child development lab .  Children can attend the child development lab on  Tuesday and Thursday only for two hours per day starting at 7:20.   This program is free.  Barbara McCoy is the supervisor.   High school students are present in the classroom with the preschool students.  The high schoolers are under the direct supervision of Ms. Mc Coy.  Ms. McCoy's email is bmccoy@milforded.org

Ready to Learn

The Ready to Learn preschool classrooms are available for three and four year old students who require a full year of preschool ( district academic calendar plus the summer months)   Children must attend at least six hours per day, five days a week.

Ready to Learn is authorized by the state Office of Early Childhood Education through a state School Readiness grant.  As a district we are required to adhere to the grant requirements, regulations, and policies in order to maintain our School Readiness funding.

Interested families must complete the online pre-enrollment application that is available for completion typically during the month of December.  Completing the pre-enrollment application does not guarantee entry into Ready to Learn as it is based on the number of seats available at Orange Ave, Pumpkin Delight , and Live Oaks and in accordance with our School Readiness grant requirements.
